Russian and Belarusian participants in Birken 2027

Birken continues, in a line with IOC and FIS decisions, its policy not to allow Russian and Belarusian athletes, to participate in Birken races. 

For SkiBirken: Elite athletes with Russian or Belarusian citizenship must apply for approval through FIS, in line with FIS's current guidelines and approval schemes and be granted the status of “Individual Neutral Athlete” (AIN) with FIS before they can compete in SkiBirken.

For all other classes and races (recreational participants), athletes who have other citizenship than RUS or BLR, or are permanent residents of countries other than Russia or Belarus can register for and participate in Birken on ordinary terms using their 2. citizenship or residential country.
(Russian or Belarusian nationality cannot be published at start lists and result lists. The appearance of all emblems, names, acronyms, combinations of colors, flags and anthems linked to Russia and Belarus is prohibited at all competitions.)
